MELISSA SANDOR
Melissa Sandor has 16 years of experience in not-for-profit
fund raising in New York City and nationally, with a particular expertise in the
arts & culture and education fields. She has provided services in capital
campaign planning and implementation, corporate and foundation relations
strategy, major gifts strategy and cultivation, grant writing, prospect research
and special events planning. Current and past clients include: New York Stage & Film, Asian American Arts Alliance, Queens Museum of
Art, BOMB Magazine, Meredith Monk/The House Foundation and East Harlem School at
Exodus House to name just a few.
Prior to consulting full-time business, Sandor was the Director of Development
for Studio in a School, a New York City based visual arts-education
organization. She was responsible for raising $4.5 million a year, board
recruitment and stewardship and the successful management of the organization’s
25th Anniversary Gala, which resulted in $1.2 million of revenue.
Sandor has held senior development positions at The City University of New York,
Queens College, where she managed corporate and foundation relations, and Pratt
Institute, where she established a major donor effort that resulted in the
institution’s largest gift to date of $13 million.
