CAROL
EDDY
SENIOR PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
Carol Eddy is an expert in constituency development, with long experience in annual giving, major gifts, organizational development and the motivation and training of volunteer leadership. She joined Results Group in 1993, playing a pivotal role in the capacity building project for public radio and NOW Legal Defense and Education Fund’s income growth plan.
Prior to joining Results Group, Ms. Eddy worked with Amnesty International USA to design, staff and implement an expanded major gifts program that successfully increased income by 20%. Past prior clients include the American Museum of the Moving Image, the Westchester Arts Council, the Hudson Valley Writers Project, and the Environmental Defense Fund. Ms. Eddy was Director of Major Gifts at the Environmental Defense Fund's headquarters in New York City from 1987 to 1993. At the Fund, she was responsible for $3 million in annual gifts, worked with trustees on face-to-face solicitations, and handled special events, mailings, proposals and overall program design as well as coordinating nationwide fund raising activities for six offices in the United States.
Prior to 1987, she served as Director of Development for the Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University in Dallas for three years, where she managed annual campaigns and a $4-million capital project as well as foundation/corporation giving. She has also served as Executive Director of the DeGolyer Estate Cultural Center, a division of Dallas' Department of Cultural Affairs, where her responsibilities included full-charge fund raising for a new cultural center, event planning and building consensus for city-wide arts projects. Prior to her fundraising career, she served as Assistant Director of Education at the Joslyn Art Museum in Omaha.
An active workshop leader and trainer, Ms. Eddy has been presenter for the Support Center of New York, the American Council for the Arts, the Nonprofit Management Association and many more organizations. She has trained in development at the Grantsmanship Center, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and the Williamsburg Development Institute. Ms. Eddy received her undergraduate education at Bryn Mawr College and Indiana University, where she earned honors in Fine Arts and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and received her Master's Degree in Humanities from the University of Texas at Dallas.
Now based in California, Ms. Eddy is also an artist in the medium of ceramic sculpture, with several gallery and exhibition projects to her credit and years of experience as an art instructor.
